Ajay K. Amlani resides in the SF Bay Area and is a well-recognized identity and defense technology expert. He serves as President, Head of Americas for iProov, a global provider of biometric authentication products used for online enrollment and verification. Ajay also serves as a current strategic identity advisor to leaders in e-commerce, artificial intelligence, and technology ranging from publicly-traded companies such as DocuSign (NASDAQ: DOCU) and PayPal (NASDAQ: PYPL), private equity funds, venture capitalists, and small to midsize disruptor companies. From 2019-2021, he reported to the CEO of Idemia and served as their SVP Corporate Strategy and Development and simultaneously their GM of Commercial Business. He established the company’s first-ever partnerships with the largest mobile handset/operating system manufacturers, fintech companies, mobile wallets, and shared economy/e-commerce companies. Since 2004, Ajay has been focused on growing successful identity-centered companies. He is a co-founder of the original company Clear, Inc., now CLEAR (NYSE: YOU), a company that now serves 12 million members and operates fast-lines across 43 major airports. He is the Founder of YOU Technology, a mobile-first retail loyalty platform that now operates across 5,000 US stores and 100 million US households under the name Inmar. The Kroger Company (the world’s largest grocery chain, NYSE: KR) acquired the company in 2014 and he stayed on board as the company’s Executive Vice President to launch Kroger’s first mobile consumer experiences (e-commerce, personalized discounts, loyalty) until YOU Technology was subsequently sold to Inmar in 2017 for $565 million.

Ajay has served as a business leader with large corporations such as Pacer International (Nasdaq: PACR, subsequently acquired by NYSE: XPO), Baxter International (NYSE: BAX), PricewaterhouseCoopers, CSX Transportation (NYSE: CSX), and General Motors (NYSE: GM). He started his career with Key Transducers, an electromechanical technology company that he started in grade school with his father and sold to PCB Piezotronics (which was subsequently sold to MTS Systems, NASDAQ: MTSC). Ajay was selected by President George W. Bush to serve as a White House Fellow and Senior Policy Advisor to Secretary Tom Ridge during the first year of the Department of Homeland Security, leading many of the country’s first identity technology initiatives (airport biometric deployments, REAL ID, no-fly lists, advanced passenger manifests, etc.) and its international negotiations with the G8, UN, OAS, and EU. Also, in 2016, he was asked by the Department of Defense (DOD) Secretary Ash Carter to help start the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU), the first-ever Silicon Valley-based unit of the DOD. As the Unit’s Director of Commercial Engagement, he grew it to over 200 subject-matter experts stretching across the fields of cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and autonomous systems (with many of the innovations now being used in the Ukraine war).
